Fareground is inspired by the idea that to make a place everyone wants to go, you have to have something for everyone. We didn't just modernize the plaza and lobby space at One Eleven, we repurposed it by giving it purpose. It’s where culinary meets community. Where work meets play. And where you’ll experience what’s happening next in Austin.
Inside, the marketplace hosts an eclectic collection of cuisine from six premier local vendors, all openly seated to inspire culinary innovation and community building. The space is a place for Austin to gather, eat, relax and enjoy, all within walking distance of the heart of the city.
Outside, the park blends the old with new: historic oaks shade a new courtyard; sprawling greenspace buzzes with new technology. At the street level, Ellis bar serves drinks and a sampling from the vendors below for Austinites on the move. It’s a place that’s never been built before, all at the base of an Austin icon. It is downtown’s hub for anything you can imagine, from business lunches to Sunday brunch and everything in between. Open daily from breakfast through dinner hours, it's not just be a place to go,“it is the place to go.”
About One Eleven
An Austin icon since 1987, the downtown skyline isn’t complete without the stair-stepped blue neon of One Eleven Congress. As downtown continues to thrive, Cousins Properties saw the opportunity to reinvent One Eleven to better suit the modern Austinite. And so, Fareground was born. More than just a place to work hard downtown, we’ve retooled One Eleven so that tenants and patrons can get the most out of downtown Austin in one place.
Built in 1987, One Eleven Congress (formerly One Congress Plaza, Norwest Plaza and Franklin Federal Plaza) sits on one of the most desirable addresses in the city. The iconic stair-step design comes from the 1931 height restriction that no building on Congress Avenue could be taller than 200 ft. without stair stepping back from the street. It's a place that speaks to more than one piece of the city’s history. And now, its future too.
To bring Fareground to life, we’ve fused the creativity, talent and expertise of a wide variety of local firms. We selected our partners for both their proven track records and their connection to the Austin market. It’s a team full of players that are as optimistic and innovative as the city that grew them.
